The Waterdogs are a Madison, WI based Instrumental Rock band. The sound is dominated by fat, reverbed Fender guitars in Surf Rock, Spaghetti Western, as well as more sophisticated/progressive styles. The group has been playing on and off since the early 90's, and features members from other notable Madison Bands including Spooner, The Rousers, and Paul Black's Flip Kings. Waterdogs music has been featured on a number of Instrumental compilations, as well as in Kite-Boarding/Windsurfing videos produced by Side-Off Productions of California, and a nationally televised CellCom commercial. The Waterdogs have opened shows for Dick Dale (8 times), Link Wray, The Cramps, Bottle Rockets, Junior Brown, and a host of other notable string-benders. The album has been very favorably reviewed by Discoveries magazine (US), New Gandy Dancer (UK), Pipeline (UK), and various Instrumental Rock websites. The band has enjoyed radio airplay on a number of US college and Alternative stations, as well as BBC UK, French radio, and BBC Scotland, who produced a special report on the band.
