What is a Soul Mate ?


Soul Mate, the one inspiration that captivates the heart and soul with an endearing quest. It is the nexus of spirit, and comforts our daily existence in its aspirations. Few have pondered the many foundations rooted in the conceptualization of a Soul Mate.

A soul mate, by common definition is a person in perfect harmony with their mates' persona, somewhat as the second thought without utterance. However, the saying "Be careful for what you wish for" always makes me grin.

We can fully understand soul mates once we must identify with the reality of love. Love is not your mirror image, but your equal. Love is not someone that enjoys all the things you enjoy, but in contrast love is that colorful opposite of your interests. This contrast inspires creativity, and compliments the deficits. No couple can hope to survive without constant mental stimulation. It is with these thoughts foremost in mind, should we begin our quest for Love. Love is the wonderful ability to appreciate the flaws in a person, for those flaws makes that person unique and genuine in their spirit. If you adjoin and align yourself with yourself, you can only hope for a carbon copy of yourself.

The human mind needs constant stimulation. When a love life becomes monotonous and mundane, we lose the attributes that gave us love. It is quintessential to love to evolve through our shared experiences, and not evolve by the edification of our mates. Your mate should compliment, not dictate. A soul mate evolves as the soul does, on its own volition in concert, with the growth of the relationship. When you have a relationship with an actual soul mate (many after a long absence of a mate, confuse a soul mate's definition), there are no domineering factors, for domination rules, where as love shares. So, there is no ruling partner in a relationship, there is not a need for one. Each partner has his or her strengths and weaknesses, so one mate compliments another.

A Soul Mate is something not of life but of many lives. A Soul Mate may return in your next life as your son, brother, father or uncle. In each evolution of the soul, will you encounter this entity, and identify it for what it is.

So a Soul Mate as love, is boundless by mere things like time and space. It is as boundless as our gift of life is.

The key to finding your Soul Mate is the key to love, and that is appreciation. When we can learn to appreciate ourselves with our counterparts to bounds of our abilities, will we learn the infinity of compassion and earnest of love?
