MELANCHOLY IMPASSE

"Melancholy Impasse" is the second album in the series of production music albums from composer/producer Michael R. Smith.

The first Volume "Drum 'n' Space explores Drum and Bass rhythms applied in a high tech environment and "Melancholy Impasse" refines the use of processors in "Chill out" and Ambient" styles.

Michael R. Smith is a session keyboard player and programmer. He has worked on many projects, most notably his long association with Gary Numan with whom he both collaborated and toured for over 12 years.

Mike has composed production pieces for the Chappell production library and has a STEMRA award from Holland for the most used background piece in 1985. He has written a film score in collaboration with Gary Numan for "The Unborn", a Roger Korman produced horror/thriller and was short listed for other movies narrowly missing "Split Second" (Rutger Hauer).

"Melancholy Impasse" sees Mike teamed with Mike Collis who mastered the album for Cactus Records and has re-mastered "Drum'n'Space".

This double album collection of sound scapes is a "must have" for video producer/directors looking for unique and unusual mood music.
