he original four members of Waving at Strangers went to the same high school in Atlanta GA, forming in the summer of 2003. They hit the road in January of 2004, and spent the majority of that year touring colleges and venues on both coasts and across the nation. Since then, their original lead singer, Clay, left to pursue his mandolin interest, and the band added on Dustin and Ian, the lead singer and guitarist of Here Comes the Metric System, one of Atlanta's best local indie-alt-rock bands.

The band has opened for a plethora of national acts (Senes Fail, Motion City Soundtrack, Lucky Boys Confusion, Less than Jake, Saves the Day, Hot Hot Heat, Left Front Tire, Cool Hand Luke, Ace Trouble Shooter, 7-10 Split, Norma Jean, Army of Freshman, A Flock of Seagulls, Vaux, Bleach, Number One Gun) in Atlanta and Southern California.

Since their formation, W@S has built an incredible following across the United States, independently selling over 3000 copies of their Aimeeland album since it's release on August 18, 2004. Look for them on their their U.S./U.K tour in July-August of 2005! Their new EP, "In Your Wake" is their newest release.
