Wayne and Karen Johnston are both performing and visual artists from Idyllwild, CA. Residents since 1982, they gain much of their artistic inspiration from the pine trees and mountains that encircle their home.

Both are multi-vocational as well. A guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, Wayne owns the local music store: Lily Rock Music. He is also a licensed real estate agent for Lily Rock Realty. Karen began making and selling artistic jewelry ten years ago, using part of the music store as an outlet for her business. She also owns and operates A Cut Above, a local hairstyling salon. After hours, she and Wayne perform music with at local venues, private parties and corporate events.

Wayne and Karen's self-released CD "Northern Blue" is enjoyed by many Idyllwild locals as well as tourists who have frequent the music store or have picked up a copy at a live performance. Recorded at Playhouse Studios in Idyllwild, "Northern Blue" is a gentle blend of acoustic folk-rock with guitar, mandolin, harmonica, drums, flute and bass.
