The Willie Harris Gospel Singers Biography

The Willie Harris Gospel Singers was organized December 12, 1997 under the management of Vincent L. Chappelle Sr. In just six years our group have traveled around the United States as well as out of the United States. We have shared the stage with the best artist in the gospel field today, such as Albertina Walker, Shirley Caesar, Vicky Winans, Yolanda Adams, Bobby Jones, Edwin Hawkins, The Canton Spirituals, Lee Williams and The Spirituals QC's, and The Williams Brothers just to name a few.

August 13, 1998 we signed our first contract with Surfine Gospel Record Company out of Benson, North Carolina. Our first project was named "Footprints Of Jesus" It was a very successful project for us and the record company. This CD is still being sold out of the internet by 4 to 5 record stores. We begin singing all around the country. In December of 1999 we sang on the Bobby Jones T.V. Show in Las Vegas, Nevada and got more bookings from this successful appearance.

The Willie Harris Gospel Singers has won many trophies, certificates, and awards from Airplay International King Eagle Awards out of Nashville, Tennessee, The Country Music Foundation out of Hasting, Nebraska, just to name a few. Willie Harris has won a song writers award for top gospel song writer of the year, for "Oh Lord Let Me Lean On You" which is on our first CD. Vincent L. Chappelle Sr. won song writer of the year for " Blame It On Jesus" which is on our second CD. Betty L. Chappelle won top gospel song writer of the year award for Hey Backslider which is the title song on our newly released CD.

We were inducted into the Nebraska Country Music Hall of Fame October17,1998. We signed our second contract with Gospel Truth Record Company out of Toronto, Canada August 31,2001. This project "Don't Stoop To the Devil's Level" was a powerful CD letting people know that they don't have to stoop to the devil's level. This project was a hit in the United States as well as Canada. Now Gospel Truth Record Co. has done it again they have released another powerful CD " Hey Backsliders God Want To Take You Back" . This CD is dedicated to all backsliders telling them to give their lives back to Jesus because God loves us all. The members are, Vincent L. Chappelle Sr. Betty Chappelle, Willie Harris and John Harper.
