PROLOGUE:

The rise, the fall, the drama and the rebirth is an account of two estranged lovers caught in a storm brimming with infatuation, tenderness, mistrust, alienation, apology, bitterness, sadness, hope, searching, explanation, rejoicing, fulfillment, and so on, etcetera, yada yada. The lovers are perpetually misled by their own assumptions, past disappointments and mutual cynicism.

'Once a tragically hopeless romantic,
always a tragically hopeless impractic,'

goes his forced but favorite rhyme. With so many suitcases and garment bags filled with yesterdays recyclables, he is blinded by the brilliant sunshine girl who offers him a seat next to her. Our curmudgeon only catches a glimpse of the light before he finds
fault in her love, her brightness POTENTIAL fading/failing/dimming on that bench seat. The star she IS would never dim, an absurdity, an impossibility, but alas he is ogling her through well abused sunglasses. All he has ever conceived of in love lays before him,
wrapped in shiny red paper with a sizable silver bow, but our fool is a regular "too good to be true," kinda fella. The sunshine girl, for all her brilliance, isn't always clear either. Though she is head over wheels in love, she speaks to the melodious traveler, in riddles and rhymes, until in confusion and foolhardiness he puts out his thumb, and "bye, bye, see ya, ciao bella..." gets out of town before the heat can kick in the door.

"The Rise" tells of their meeting, their two weeks of glorious passion. You know: fireworks, lightening, earth moving good stuff. Turns out he must leave her waiting, previous obligations/requirements/bullmake, but with plans for rendezvous in three months' time. The story begins with his promise to return home in "One More Night in Boston." The fable/fairy tale/adventure that follows is why he/they/she never and forever finally get it together.
