Happy pop rock you can sing along to, smile about, and can't wait to share with your friends.
7 MP3 Songs
POP: Power Pop, ROCK: Americana
Details:
Wicked Liz and the Bellyswirls come together in the Spring of '99. Bob Kelly (bass) had just returned from a two year teaching stint in Japan.
He started having daily jam sessions in his parent's basement with his brother Leo (guitar). One night while their younger brother was having a party Bob sat in the basement playing guitar. Down a hallway he could hear someone singing along to his rendition of Bob Marley's "Redemption Song." Liz Townsend entered the room, finished the song, and then introduced herself.
After a couple practices, Leo, Liz and Bob set out to find a drummer. After a short phone call to local drummer Terry Hanson, he instructed them to try calling his friend Greg Hipskind. Bob and Greg met in a Village Inn parking lot, talked about shared musical interests, and after an initial jam session, Wicked Liz and the Bellyswirls were born.
