Maria Woodford is a traditionally ear trained musician who has been writing and performing for 11 years. Maria has also performed in a variety of theatrical productions and has appeared on over 18 studio and live albums over the past four years. In 1997 Maria produced a compilation CD ("NJ Bands: a benefit for Children's Specialized Hospital") which received critical acclaim in her region as one of the best indie compilations to come out of the tri-state area by some of New Jersey and New York's toughest critics. The project raised over $5,000.00 and all of the profits were donated to The Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ. (Check www.mp3.com for sound bytes.) Currently, maria Woodford is performing in an acoustic duo called Duende with singer/songwriter/guitar virtuoso Alex Radus (www.cdbaby.com/radus). As a duo, Maria and Alex have brought their music from coast to coast. In 2000, Duende travelled 30,000 highway miles, played countless venues, and performed on 8 full length releases.
