Details:
Adam Wyle's ability as a songwriter could be attributed in large part to a long and unique history of musical experiences that began with piano lessons in a convent at age 6. According to Wyle, learning piano from nuns can be a dangerous pursuit. Freed of ruler-wielding nuns, Wyle learned guitar, wrote his first song at the tender age of 12 and began to take more of an interest in the radio. Weaned on an early diet of James Taylor, Wyle soon discovered Bob Dylan and the Velvet Underground, and proceeded to find a rock-minded guitar teacher to help him hone his songwriting skills in high school. Unfortunately, not long after finding his perfect mentor, he lost him to the big house.
"I went in one day and he was gone," remembers Wyle. "He called me a couple days later and told me he was in Hawaii getting married and wouldn't be able to teach me anymore. About 3 or 4 years ago my mom finally told me that he actually called me from jail."
Wyle enrolled in the University of Illinois and dove into a burgeoning music scene festering with indie stalwarts like Hum and Poster Children. Dabbling in several different bands through his teens and early 20s, Wyle founded Rhythm Tree in 2000 and finally landed a winner. In addition to garnering an enormous local following, Rhythm Tree received serious attention on college radio achieving rotation in cities throughout the nation. As his band enjoyed continued success, Wyle was inspired to write one of the people he admired most - Marvin Etzioni. To Wyle's surprise, Entzione listened to Wyle's enclosed demo tape and replied, inviting Wyle to L.A. where the two began working with Greg Lease and Benmont Tench (Tom Petty).
Adam's newest album "PROOF" was produced by Marvin Etzioni (The Counting Crows, Toad the Wet Sprocket). Representing a collection of songs that were written and recorded in LA over the past couple years, "PROOF" truly examines Adam's talent as a singer, songwriter and performer. Known for his ability to tell a story through melodic hooks and thought provoking lyrics "PROOF" is a collection of songs that sets out to do just that. From start to finish Adam captures inspirational moments that others can reflect upon as they pass through life. Adam and his producer Marvin set out to make a timeless record in the vein of those albums and artists that have influenced Wyle's career. An album that make sense from opening track to final note. This will be Adam Wyle's second solo album and accompanying him is a host of all-star musicians that capture the essence of each song. This combination of Adam's singing and song writing combined with un-parallel musicianship will make this album a must have for one's record collection.
