"The daring three-piece's sound seems strangely reminiscent of both Portishead and Motorhead."
--The Blue Banner / Asheville, NC

"Every band hates that question, but every band gets asked," says Zero to 60 frontman Eric Weissinger when asked to describe the band's sound. "I suppose if Steve Albini were producing some 70s glam band like Sweet it might sound like this. I think we're just a rock band though."

Zero to 60 was formed when Weissinger and drummer Mark Lowery, who had played together backing various singer-songwriters, decided to form a rock band. After trying a succession of guitarists, Weissinger discovered that a cycling buddy, Randy Roland, was an accompished guitarist. Roland, formerly of South Carolina's Jokestick, adds a keen ear for melody and an almost metal edge to the band's sound. Lowery's wide range of experience includes hip-hop-rockers MC Huggs, metal powerhouse Mini Void, and, with Weissinger, singer-songwriters Nikki Talley and Brianna Lane. Before moving to Asheville, Weissinger also played with Florida college-popsters The World on Wheels, Atlanta rockers Sin Eaters, and DB recording artist Anne Richmond Boston. He also recently toured with Scottish singer-songwriter Jo McCafferty.
