Details:
"Crawlspace" began as a private-release by Toledo, Ohio based singer, musician, songwriter Ken Grosjean. Using 4 and 8 track home recording equipment, this DIY features Ken playing all the instruments on each track with the exception of three where he is joined by keyboardist Joel Zmuda. The result is a 10 song CD that posseses a lo-fi pop appeal reminiscent of Emitt Rhodes, Martin Newell and R. Stevie Moore.

Ken Grosjean has put together a fine 10 song record complete with meandering melodies and Ken's heartfelt vocals. "I Saw You Crying In Your Car" tugs at the heartstrings while the horn on "The Only Game In Town" was a nice touch, and the jangly guitar on "Keeahbit" sounds real fine. Give this one a listen!

Dagger Magazine

A one man band, Ken Grosjean pulled out his Burt Bacharach instinct and drove it inside Paul McCartney's garage. With honeymooner themes "Be Your Man" and "Under The China Moon" to the sounds of "Alright" and "I Saw You Crying In Your Car," the songs offer subtle, heartfelt musings even your mom wouldn't mind. "Crawlspace" points to a future that is surely promising. Hats off to independent artists, hats off to Ken Grosjean.

Excellent private release by Toledo, Ohio singer-songwriter who has penned a slew of beautiful and engaging pop songs along the line of The Beatles and Beach Boys vein. This is an artist that deserves to be heard.

When you produce pop music this lo-fi and minimal, you better have material that will shine above the murky arrangements. Beneath the austere recording environment, songs like "Alright" and "Baby Blue" recall the likes of Roy Orbison, Paul McCartney, Harry Nilsson, David Bowie, et al. Now if a record label would only give Grosjean the financing to beef up these excellent songs.
