Details:
Bronchintinis Records is proud to present Deserter, the sophomore album from Professor Psyche.

Last we saw of the Professor, he was broken down and at his most vulnerable. Deserter picks up immediately where the debut album left off -- the Professor realizes that he needs to change everything in his life. He burns all of his belongings and heads for home.

Deserter is set entirely in the wilderness. The first few songs are about building momentum and getting prepared for something challenging. The middle of the album is where the fear and desperation sets in, because as the sun sets, the Professor gets completely lost and runs out of food. He considers giving up and going back to where he started, but he eventually decides that it's no use. The last section of the album is a bit more hopeful because the sun returns and he finds a path that seems to be leading him in the right direction. Whereas the album's midsection deals with external confusion of being lost, the end of the album deals with the emotional confusion of approaching home and realizing that reintegrating into society will be a bigger challenge than anticipated.

The themes of the album are loss of momentum, confusion, perseverance, and the thrill of living in the moment. Musically, Deserter is jam-packed with upbeat singles, wild vocal experiments, and surprise cameos by a djembe, electric guitar, 80's synth, and the Professor's sister making monkey noises.

Deserter was made for open minds. Only the bravest listeners will survive.
