ALBUM DESCRIPTION
"Best of 2003" is an 11-track compilation of some of my best original songs. This album serves as a rough draft, or placeholder, for some of my musical ideas until I can improve upon the sound quality and musical performance with other musicians at some later date. BIO
Zyzygy is a nonsense word that is rooted from the word syzygy (Greek: "yoked together"). In astronomy, syzygy is a situation where three celestial bodies are positioned along a straight line.

Musically I like to think of Zyzygy as the experience when musical instruments come together in perfect alignment, unity, and harmony (dissonant or cooperative). The result is a powerful vibration, which can heal and uplift people to Superconscious like states of being. The epitome of Zyzygy is that moment when you become so absorbed in music that you forget your pain and worries, simultaneously becoming a more conscious expression of who and what you truly are.

I founded Zyzygy during the summer of 2002. Zyzygy emerged from a former band I created around 1996 called Vibe Tribe. For me, the band has always been about the songs, the music, and being a channel for the transformative power of music. There is a synergy that comes from people and instruments cooperating musically together. Zyzygy is a metaphor and a symbol for creating a better world through music.

I see Zyzygy as an opportunity to welcome talented musicians to join me in the expression of this music. Whether the band consists of just me as a solo act, a few long-term dedicated musicians, guest musicians, or a whole ensemble of musicians, it is Zyzygy.
