Details:
Beverly Ritz, melodic jazz pianist/composer-lyricist/vocalist, is "the voice for animals & nature." Her first CD, "TANGO, WHERE DID THE TIME GO?" encompasses story songs about cats and dogs and a baby seal she fostered, as well as movie theme-like melodies dedicated to the protection of wilderness areas and rivers.

Her romantic jazz piano style is reminiscent of Marian McPartland, yet her blues compositions have obviously been influenced by the work of both Henry Mancini and Horace Silver. Also, in pieces such as "Nothing But You" and "Good-bye" there is a strong resemblance to the bossa novas of Antonio Carlos Jobim.

Listeners have described her music as dreamy and soothing, or romantic and passionate. Jazz dj Jon Bisom labels "Discovery Park" as "absolutely gorgeous." Jazz trumpet player Larry Shelton says Beverly's music and life story "should be made into a movie." And her world is a colorful one--living on a farm on the northern California coast, surrounded by tall trees and the Pacific Ocean, teaching music at The College of The Redwoods, performing her original compositions and arrangements in a wide variety of venues, and caring for the animals that fill her life......Her music can be heard in churches (including original arrangements of "Rock of Ages" and "Away in a Manger") and schools, as well as in restaurants and clubs. Among her fans are jazz guitarist/composer P.R. Mack, jazz pianist George Kahn, and the great jazz bass player, John Clayton.

Her vast product line includes 5 albums on cassette, the CD, 15 pieces of sheet music, 2 children's sing-along books, and her own line of clothing--BUDDYWEAR--with amusing photos of Buddy, "The (talking, walking) Cat in The Forest."
