Alternative Folk Rock with ethereal melodies and thought-provoking melancholic lyrics, a diverse and original sound that draws the listener effortlessly into a pleasant valley on a spring morning. Barry has had 3 #1 songs in Canada. 23 covered songs world-wide. "Living in America" is a classic blues/gospel piece, and the sweet "Blue Eyes" is Graham Gouldman's (10cc) favourite track. The range of writing is breathtaking and the direct lyrics always make a mind work! Gentle and rough, soft and tough it was voted best independent CD in Vancouver 1999. "The Silent Partner" is a Greenfield song that Buffy Ste.Marie covered with great acclaim in 1988. The original version (found here) was recorded in 1972 by Barry, and produced by David M. Kershenbaum for RCA USA. His band that day was Jim Gordon (Derek and the Dominoes), Larry Carlton (Steeley Dan), Joe Osborne (The Byrds), and Larry Knectel (Bread).
