FOLK: Modern Folk, EASY LISTENING: Love Songs

Details:
Singer/songwriter Craig Owen has released The Smallest of Things, his first CD of original music.

Craig's music is a blend of modern folk and a touch of spirituality. He strives for the emotional sincerity of writers like John Denver and Gordon Lightfoot. Yet his music also reflects an awareness of a spiritual reality that permeates our everyday life.

Arranged with only vocal and acoustic 12-string guitar, the simplicity of the music invites the listener to ponder their own experiences as mirrored in Craig's songs. Title track The Smallest of Things highlights what we will remember most about past and present loves. A Distant Shore is about holding onto hope in difficult times. Merrilynn is a story of finding love in the most unlikely of places.

Craig Owen began writing and performing his music at open mic nights while living in Denver CO. He also hung out and performed at the Swallow Hill Music Association in Denver, which promotes folk music of all varieties. Since moving to South Carolina, he has continued to write and perform.

Craig Owen has also written a book on spirituality, The Six Faces of Love, which can be viewed at www.1stbooks.com/bookview/2575.
