joe was born in san antonio, raised in dallas and moved to austin in '72. after playing with about ten different bands he started his own. the first diamond joe band was in 1978. then he moved to new york in '83. he just played in other peoples bands for ten years. then the time came when he decided he wouldn't be happy with out his own band doing his music. this album is the result of than decision. joe says "this is the first recording i've done that i liked right off." this is the first album he has done that he had total control of, and it shows. if you like solid originals great hot guitar and are tired of blues cds with 6 shuffels, 2 slow 12 bars and a funky beat tune you'll be glad you bought this cd. joe is not the new kid on the block, in new york they call him "the real deal"
