If you were in the LA music scene during the wild New Wave '80's, you undoubtedly remember one of the local rock mainstays of the strip: SPEEDLIMIT. The band played relentlessly at every memorable (and not so memorable) nightspot during the "New Wave" and "Punk" era including The Whiskey-a-go-go, Roxy, Madame Wong's, and The Troubadour. For several years the bands large following and entourage kept the party happening as they shared stages with Black Flag, The Motels, and other "up and coming" groups of the period. This was during the time when you would see KROQ's legendary DJ Rodney Bingemheimer out and about and in the audience.
Speaking of KROQ, (remember ROQ of the 80's?) Speedlimit was on KROQ rotation with their popular re-make of Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" in the summer of '81. "Boots" will be available on the upcoming SPEEDLIMIT YEARS Vol. 2, due for release before the end of 2003.
