Gregory Wilburn Amerind has been performing since the age of 5 studying piano, trumpet and voice throughout his school years, eventually majoring in music and theater at UCLA and Cal State University, Northridge.
A professional singer for many years in Los Angeles, his career includes stops in Musical Theater with lead roles in Applause, The Pajama Game, Promises, Promises, & Guys & Dolls; nightclubs, most notably with "Pacific Jazz & Electric", a vocal ensemble which he co-founded and for which he wrote and arranged much of the material; and studios where he was often called upon to record demos for LA songwriters as well as for commercial, TV & Radio and industrial projects. He has also been a private voice instructor since 1982.
He has performed with Ann Jillian, John Astin and Patrick Duffy in various projects, and appeared briefly in the film "The Jazz Singer" with Neil Diamond. Relocating to Arizona in 1997, Greg has been active as principal soloist, composer/arranger and director of the SGI-USA Arizona Cactus Chorus, a community group devoted to the cause of world peace through music and culture. He recently had the honor of conducting "We Are One" performed by a 400 voice interfaith choir at Bank One Ballpark on September 11, 2002 in commemoration of the 1st anniversary of the attacks on America.
In 2003, Greg founded Grokmusik, an internet-based music production and publishing company. He released his first solo CD in 2004 on the Grokmusik label entitled, "Late Boomer", a collection of original songs
