A young hip-hop artist originating from the bayous of Louisiana, SJ a/k/a Hoodoo Slimm drops his first (self-produced) release "Superstitions" on his own label Food for the Gods Ent. Writing rhymes since 1985 and recording and producing his music a few years later, he has been molding his style into the unique yet versatile form that it is today. Having grown up with hip-hop since hearing Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" at age five, he was influenced to pick up the mic by artists such as Whodini, UTFO, Run-DMC, and many other "old school" rappers. After years of trying to get signed, and a short stint at a New Orleans indie label, he has decided it is in his best interests to release his own recordings.
