Lightning Tree is from the Northeast Ohio U.S.A. Formed by Guitarist/Composer Jonel Mandres in 1996.
Volume 1 displays many styles: Metal, Rock, Blues, Neo-Classical, European Folk, Middle Eastern & Shred. Band has been compared to Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Genesis, Dream Theatre, Yngwie Malmsteen, Ozzy, Gary Moore, Trans Siberian Orchestra & More.
This project was intentionally eclectic by design to cross many musical borders and genres. For that reason alone this recording could never be released through a major label or traditional channels. The philosophy of the band was "why be stuck in one style"? Over $40,000 and more than 2 years of recording went into making this unique, one of a kind independent record.
