Lil Red Johnnie is a small town boy from Indiana. In his teens he played drums in rock and roll bands and opened shows for acts like; Sly and the Family Stone, Archie Bell and the Drells, The Boxtops, Bob Seeger, and many others. At age 19 he joined a band called the Ohio Express {Yummie Yummie Yummie} and traveled with them for a short time. He played in Big Bands, did theater shows, played Country and performed in a House of Jazz. One of his last jobs was with a Blues Band called Atta-Boy. After forty years of cover tunes and working REAL jobs to pay the bills, Lil Red, decided to pick up a guitar and learn to play. Well, a year and a half later, two Cd's were born, "One of You" and "Dream Maker", both available here. The name Lil Red Johnnie was inspired by the story, "The Little Red Hen", because when the project began all the fellow musicians Lil Red sought to help him plant, nurture, and bake his ideas were just too busy to get very involved. The project was developed and the ideas made reality mostly on his own. All music and lyrics are Lil Red Johnnie originals. Now that it is finished, and the smell of the bread begins to fill the air, many are ready to help eat. SO, lets eat. The tunes written on these two CD's are full of meaningful, fun and sometimes serious lyrics. The songs have a way of making one feel good and sing along without even knowing it. It is a very unique variety of music. Hope you enjoy them.
