All it took was one email. A young film director, Anne-Sophie Dutoit, looking for a soundtrack song that struck a chord with her story. A search of available material was made, and the rest is history.

Faded Memories is now the soundtrack song to a movie of the same name by Anne-Sophie Films (www.fadedmemoriesmovie.com)

This song was written by Western Australian musician Ian Cocker for his daughter Alex. Alienated after divorce he has not seen her for seven years. This song is his way of facing pain, verbalising loss and keeping his love for Alex alive through music.

The movie story has a remarkably synonymous theme surrounding a young couple and their tragic relationship. Not your run of the mill love story by any measure. A wonderful script by a wonderful young talent.

âFaded Memoriesâ features on Ian Cockerâs album âFootprintsâ. It was re-recorded for the movie in 2008 in Western Australia at the WIIG Factory studios. âThe Timesâ (Neville Dowling â keyboards; Stephen Manassah â bass, digital percussion; and Guy Slingerland â drums, percussion) again weave their magic to create a beautifully haunting soundscape. Ian Cocker features on guitar (electric and acoustic), vocals and BVs.

The âflip sideâ to this CD single is a track called Opportunity. It is a song left over from the album âNot Meâ. It was re-worked to be part of âPolarityâ but didnât quite fit the collage created on that album either.

With some workshopping, wizardry and remixing by Manassah and Cocker; haunting keyboards by Dowling; and electric guitar work by virtuoso Trevor Jalla â the track âarrivedâ and found a deserved home on the single.
