Some biographical notes: Randy Mason is a seasoned musician and songwriter who has performed her acoustic-driven rock in varying musical contexts over the years. Recently recognized by Sennheiser Corporation for her songwriting ability, she was chosen as one of 100 finalists (out of over 100,000 entries) in their Evolution 2000 Songwriting Contest. "Halfway, through Night" received excellent reviews from both fans and music critics alike (see below). When it was distributed to a small group of Gavin-reporting college radio stations, it generated extensive airplay, often charting in the Top 10. According to Program Director Scott Dalton, it may be the longest-running CD in the history of WAIH, NY.
A unique, multi-faceted artist, Ms. Mason's music is simultaneously beautiful, powerful, catchy, and haunting. Her lyrics are reflective, insightful, and dark, but ultimately uplifting. These two components, coupled with the energy and sincerity of her performances, leave audiences deeply affected.
Playing electric and acoustic guitar, Ms. Mason is joined in performance by the solid rhythm section of Eric Mauriello (bass) and Phil Bloom (drums/percussion). Both of these musicians have toured and/or recorded with major label artists.
