Acoustic driven Alternative Country from Arizona singer-songwriter, Mary Hoffman. If you like country, but not real twangy country, you'll love this.
10 MP3 Songs
COUNTRY: Country Pop, ROCK: Folk Rock
Details:
Mary Hoffman is a young singer/songwriter out of the Phoenix area. She writes simple, honest songs from the heart, easy to reach into and understand - she speaks simply and plainly to her feelings, no pretenses or obscurities here.
Stylistically, the tunes cover a lot of ground, treading ground between old-school rock, and "just this side of" country - with a couple wildcards thrown in.
This CD came into play when Mary ran into Ric Campbell at an open mic night (of all places!) and he said he wanted to completely redo Mary's first album, "Better than U" with a full band. How could Mary refuse? It took about two years to get it done, but it was well worth the wait! Before it was even done, it was being played on the radio! (97.3FM now 94.1FM Phoenix).
Recently, she has been on Good Morning Arizona, was one of the fifty finalists in the Pantene Pro-voice competition, and was the Arizona State University Idol for 2004.
