A broad but short list of personal favourites would include bands such as Duran Duran, KMFDM, Jane's Addiction and Dead Can Dance as well as artists Leonard Cohen, Iggy Pop, Bob Marley, and composer Ricard Wagner. The imagination and the conflict can be heard in his music.
Rick is a musician first, but his lyrics and arrangements reflect the ideas of a philosopher who lives music. Having deeply considered views about life and human nature, Rick tends to apply a message or at the least a reflection within an arousing and energetic musical vehicle. A sense of purpose prevails throughout the repetoir without losing the simple pleasures of sound and poetry.
