Details:
Yellow Sky is my sophomore release and first in my new stomping ground of Seattle, WA. They are dark songs that I think hold a beauty in their honesty. It was recorded in just a few weeks time in my home studio during August/September of 2004. I wanted to capture the energy of my live performances, so I basically decided to record these songs live. The main vocals and guitars were recorded simultaneously while adding some other layers of instrumentation afterwards. The music is acoustic with some dirty guitar parts added here and there. You can sort of imagine a band jamming on some of these songs but I hope they stand on their own as well.

There is a cover of Beck's "I Get Lonesome" which I just freakin' love. It was actually the first song recorded for this record. It sort of lit the fire under my ass after I finished it. So it serves as both a cool cover tune and the kindling for the whole project.

The album cover shot was a photo taken from my old apartment on Capital Hill in Seattle, WA. I was taking a nap on the couch during one of our many rainy days here in the Pacific Northwest. I awoke to this golden glow and rushed to get my tripod and camera. The sun was just sneaking over the Olympic Mountains as it caught a break in the clouds. All that grey just turned into gold.
