L.J. & Co. was started by Philadelphia-based songwriter/producer/arranger Lenny J. Defranco. Lenny spent the first 10 years of his career performing, writing and producing original songs for other area-based artists. In 1986, having secured publishing contracts with Assorted Music (BMI) and Maplesville Music (BMI), Lenny released a record named "Jump Street" on his own label, Kingstreet Records and his own publishing company, Gendora Music (BMI). Thr record was featured on a teen dance show called 'The Dance Connection' where it made the charts for several weeks making it to #13, sharing the charts with such heavyweights as Paul McCartney, Shiela E., Elton John and others.After that, Lenny put his writing and recording career on hold to marry a wonderful woman and raise three kids, while still performing as a drummer with local bands and occasionally writing music for videos and local films. Now, 22 years since his last release, Lenny has started writing again and the result is this fresh new pop-oriented CD, 'Right Back Where I Started From', featuring the new single, "Megan". This is fun, 60's style pop music saturated with catchy hooks and melodies in the style of such pop groups as the Beach Boys, The Beatles, Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons, The Turtles, etc. This CD features songs that range from the Beach Boys-style single, "Megan" to the fact-based story in "Midnight Lady", to the retrospective, look at the past of the title track, "Right Back Where I started from".
