The story so far...
Skitzo Calypso started as Brad Cox's solo project in 1996. While writing the fourth album, Stignation, Cox decided it was time to involve others in the writing process. Skitzo Calypso has been together as the band it is now for over 4 years (with the exception of Kevin, whose grooves have been part of the band since late '03). The band released "The Shattering" on January 17, 2004 and has been playing in support of it.
The band has played many places in the Mid-Atlantic region and has opened for national acts such as Kill Hannah, Jimmies Chicken Shack, Brides of Destruction (Nikki Sixx/Tracii Guns), Amen, Bile, Slaughter, Seven Mary Three, Nocturne, Gotham Road (f/Misfits singer Michael Graves).
S.C. has had positive reviews and features in such publications as Music Monthly, Key of DE, and Baltimore Beat Magazine. Their jingle "Revolution No. 1069" is the theme song played every weekday on the x106.9 FM (Ocean City, MD) Morning Show. The band also was the very first Band of the Month for 98 Rock's Noise in the Basement in January '04.
In July '04, S.C. was put on Genxeffect's top ten list - No. 1 for best live performance and No. 10 for best album. And was given a very nice review on the show opening for Seven Mary Three. Check out www.skitzocalypso.com and click on the Reviews section to read what reviewers are saying about the band.
There is much more to come from the band as they continue playing more cities and venues and continue writing songs. A music video was recently shot for "Consent to You" and will be released shortly. Prepare for Infection!
The entire album "The Shattering" is available for purchase. You can download the whole thing or song by song from iTunes.
