Finally, after five years, Celtic Nots have brought out their sixth album, one which features Jeff McMurtery of cajon, djembe, and of course, bodhran. Like previous recordings, "Three Jolly Rogues" has a mixture of driving Irish and Celtic tunes and vocal numbers, such as the adrenaline-pumping mouth music piece "Fionnghuala", the classic boy-meets-booze tale "Johnny Jump Up" and the breathtaking "Parting Glass", guaranteed to bring a wee tear to the eye. The band, Carlos Alden (stringy things), Jeff McMurtery (bangy things), and James Hunter (blowy things), are joined by the ridiculously talented bassist Eugene Jablonsky on two tracks - the whimsical "Vladimir's Steamboat" and the jazzy "Dr Gilbert", setting the scene for a possible sequel..."Four Jolly Rogues"?
