Details:
Created in 2000, Tala is a three piece improvisational organism that continuously tours from coast to coast maintaining a loyal and ever growing fan base. With their captivating live performances, they have been winning over crowds and gathering support from music lovers across Canada.

Tala's live show is a dynamic roller coaster ride of funk, acid jazz, reggae, East Indian and electronic music. By employing a combination of structure and improvisation, the band creates a union of styles seldom seen on the live circuit. While their originals are the forte of their repertoire, the band has also been known to resurrect obscure favorites with a uniquely modern interpretation. Add to this their consistent rhythmic grooves, and the final result is a performance that not only pleases the ears, but also makes for a captivating show to dance to.

The Montreal based trio consists of Steve Venkatarangam (guitar/sitar/keys) , Adrian Aitken (drums) and a rotation of bassists from in and around the Montreal area making each show unique. The band has been constantly touring Canada playing over 100 shows last year from Vancouver to Halifax. With the release of their self-titled CD in September 2002 Tala shows no signs of slowing down.
