Upon completing musical studies at North Carolina Central University, God gave our leader a vision. This vision was to start a music ministry in the Raleigh-Durham area that would not only travel the nation spreading the Word of God through song, but one that would aid in changing lives, saving souls and setting the captive free. With a burning desire in his heart for music ministry and twelve willing vessels, The Abundant Blessings Chorale was birthed in May of 1994.
Travis Cooper & The Abundant Blessings Chorale, affectionately known as ABC, has traveled extensively delivering God's Word through song. The group has ministered across the eastern seaboard and locally with a mission to reach the lost at any cost while edifying the body of Christ.
The group has had several opportunities to minister with national gospel recording artists. Those artists are in the persons of Pastor Shirley Caesar-Williams, Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers, Pastor John P. Kee, Evangelist Dorothy Norwood, Minister Christopher Brinson, The Wilmington-Chester Mass Choir, Pastor Timothy Wright, Karen Clark-Sheard and Dorinda Clark-Cole, both of the renowned Clark Sisters.
In 1999, the group was awarded a U.J.A.M. award for "Best Praise & Worship Ensemble" in the Triangle area.
ABC recorded their first CD project entitled "Present To Deliver" in 1999. As a result of this dynamic debut project, souls have been saved and delivered from the hand of the enemy. God has also afforded the group the opportunity to record their sophomore project entitled "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" which was released in December 2004.
We look forward to God doing even greater things in this ministry. We are yet standing firm on the promises of God as he yet continues to prove himself over and over again as we earnestly yield ourselves to him.
