Ron Spielman - From My Songbook (frimfram)

The extraordinary guitarist, songwriter and singer Ron Spielman is one of the pearls of the Berlin music scene.
Spielman was born in 1964 in Schweinfurt, Germany as the son of a German Mother and an American Father. After recieving his first guitar at the age of 14, he taught himself his first chords and riffs by listening to records. He formed his first band in the 80´s. He has since lived in New York and Boston, and toured with The Little River Band, the late Steve Marriott, Dave Stewart, The Chick Corea Electric Band, Bob Geldorf, The Climax Blues Band, Johnny Guitar Watson and many others.
In 1999 Ron moved to Berlin, where he met the British artist and musician John C. Barry, who often writes the lyrics for Ronâs music.
In 2002 he began to work with drummer and producer Torsten Krill. Together they produced this CD for Torsten Krillâs Indie label âfrimframâ,
a CD that presents Ronâs skills as a musician in a very relaxed atmosphere, concentrating on pure songs composed around Ronâs voice and his acoustic guitar.
His fan base has steadily grown and since the release of his superb acoustic album From My Songbook´, he can no longer be considered merely an insider tip.
The music press has heaped praise upon him:Days on which CDs like that of Ron Spielmans arrive, should be specially noted in any music journalists calender...â.
The From My Songbook´album is one of the finest productions of recent years´. Wrote the magazine Jazzpodium´.
The T.V. channel SAT 1 made it their Album Of The Week shortly after recieving a copy.
Typical of Ron Spielmans music is his breathtaking guitar style and timeless´ songs. Songs that span Folk, Soul, Country, Jazz and classic
Rn´B, are combined with Americana and Rock elements and brilliant songwriting.
