As with most vocalists, Wendy discovered her talent in the church. And there her heart has stayed, as she has been a member of the A.M.E. church her entire life. During high school, Wendy perfected her craft performing in the Germantown High School chorales and theatre department plays. While performing in the theatre is when she became âWyndie.â One summer, while visiting her aunt Valerie in Brooklyn, she decided that the entertainment world was her goal after seeing the Broadway version of Dreamgirls in NYC. Her next accomplishment was being crowned Miss Black Memphis 1992.
Wendy Oliver-Henry (Wyndie Oh!) has opened for jazz artists Jonathan Butler and Rachelle Ferrell. She offers other talents as emcee and production coordinator through Fresh Ideas Entertainment in the Memphis area. She has worked with such diverse artist & groups as After 7, Angela Winbush, Boney James, MaâLisa Morgan, Kirk Whalum and Phil Perry & many others. Wyndie Oh! Was also a featured soloist on the Clay Holliday, Jr. & Voices of Victory Gospel CD recording. Wyndie Oh! has also traveled and opened for New York City favorite, Jazz artist, Cynthia Holiday.
Also an accomplished model on the runway and in print, an actress with local & national commercials under her belt, and an entrepreneur as owner of Oh! What An Event Productions & PlanningâWyndie Oh! is set to take on the world and all it has to offer!
