Mary Ann grew up as a Preacherâs daughter and worked diligently in her fatherâs church. She ministered in music at an early age, and began writing music not long after her mother taught her how to play piano. By age 8, she gave her first full concert of all original music to her neighborhood friends in the families garage, while her mother served them Koolaid and cookies.


Mary Ann traveled with her 3 older brothers, and together they formed a band known as âSubmissionâ. They ministered in various churches and conferences throughout the United States. This was the ground work that began developing skills for so much more to come in the future.

As a sophomore in high school, Mary Annâs mother was diagnosed with cancer and began a long fight for her life. For the next 2 years, the family prayed and did everything medically possible to save her, but by the time Mary Ann was a Senior, her mother was in Stage 4 cancer, and was sent home to die. It was then, that during one of her daily Bible studies, Mary Ann felt impressed by God that she was to attend a Christian University, and there she would become a television singer. Upon discussing this with her family, they were in total agreement, so Mary Ann left her family and began her studies at the University. Because of her obedience to God, the first week of school, Mary Ann was chosen to sing in the group that became the television singers, and her mother was miraculously healed! The doctor wrote on her chart, âItâs a Miracleâ!! Her mother has never again had cancer, and is alive and well today because of the healing power of Jesus Christ. This experience powerfully impacted Mary Annâs faith, and helped her to see that God sent Jesus to the earth to save us from our sins, and also to deliver us from our sicknesses and sorrows, according to Isaiah 53.


Mary Ann is nationally and internationally renowned having ministered in the United States, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Israel, the Philippines, as well as, Mexico and Panama. Due to the international scope of her ministry, Mary Ann has recorded her latest album âBecause of Youâ in English, as well as, Spanish. She can be seen on television frequently on such networks as TBN and Daystar. In addition to being a guest of âPraise The Lordâ with Paul Crouch and Daystar with Marcus & Joni Lamb , Mary Ann has been on the 700 Club with Pat Robertson and Ben Kinchlow! Mary Ann is the loving wife of Gilbert Markarian, a business entrepreneur and National Director for FGBMFI, an Christian international business organization with over 1.5 million members in 150 plus nations. Together they have 2 children.


One of Mary Annâs passions is to help others. Over 1.6 Billion people do not have clean drinking water - that is 1 in every 6 people that face life threatening diseases because of the dirty water that they drink. She and her husband are ministry partners with Living Water International, a Christian organization that recognizes this desperate need, and brings life giving drinking water, and the âLiving Waterâ of Christ, to those around the world by digging wells. A portion of the CD proceeds go to help fund this worthy cause.
