Raised in the dusty Midwest with a blues heart and a folk head, Fly Away Sparrow - the guise of singer/songwriter Darin Kaihoi - has recorded his first album, a collection of honest and aching songs backed by a talented group of friends, entitled âSpace and Materialâ. âSpace And Materialâ was recorded live over a gray and icy weekend mid-January in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The album, featuring eight original songs all written by Kaihoi, impressively moves from stripped down acoustic questions on âNegotiate The Grayâ, to catchy, high energy folk meditation on âEmancipate Meâ, to poetic intercession on âOcean To Landâ.
