If youīre like me and a fan of films like Wes Cravenīs "The Hills Have Eyes", John Dahlīs "Joy Ride" or Oliver Stoneīs "U Turn" youīll dig "Zzyzx". Itīs so intense, my wife came in while I was watching and had to leave the room. I really liked Kenny Johnsonīs performance. Heīs the blond cop on the Shield. The girl was really good too, very surprising. Hereīs the story, no spoilers. On their way to Vegas for a weekend of fun, two guys turn off onto this road called Zzyzx (itīs a real place near Vegas) so the one named Ryan can check out the mysteries heīs read about on the net. Things go downhill fast when Lou ( the Shield guy) spots an indian dude staggering along in the distance, "accidentally" runs him down with his Delta 88, and hides the body in his car. Then they meet the dead guyīs wife Candice. This movie reminds me of a cross between "Rope" and "Deathtrap"... but with a hard, twisty edge. Itīs raw all the way -- dialogue, camera , editing, sound, and at 80 minutes, I totally felt like I got my moneyīs worth ($2.99, cīmon!). Definitely not for queazy types, though (like my wife). When all hell breaks loose near the end, Zzyzx shows you things you should have seen all along and made me think twice about ever turning off a main road. Opening and closing credits alone are worth the ride, but whatīs in between is killer. So cool that you can download stuff like this!! I want more, more, more! Cuddly wrote:

WOW!!!!! I just watched the movie and it was fantastic. The physical nature of the acting was so well done. The three main actors must still be bruised. That was the best movie that I have seen in a long long time. Itīs about a great movie and you all should get acclaim for it. BRAVO!!! Amy T wrote:
The movie rocked! Definitely not what I was expecting since (deleted spolier!), but it was a trip! Every movie that I have seen in the past year, Iīve had the ending figured out half way through the movie which spoils it for me. I didnīt know if I had a good imagination or if these movies today just leave nothing up to it, but I didnīt see any of that coming! Congratulations on the film! LemFan wrote:
Awesome movie!! I absolutely love those sorts of films with the camera work, the past/present shots, all of it! Plot was fantastic. Boone Dock Saints used to be sort of an underground movie until everyone got "hip" to it and I think youīve got the same sort of film here. longbeachgirl wrote:

I downloaded Zzyzx -- Kenneth Johnson is definitely A+ here. Donīt wanna say too much about the story, because there are some major turns in it, but the scenes in the camper van are my favorite. More Files Of This User |
