The musical collection âSonidos & Tiempoâ (Sounds & Tempo) celebrates our humanity and our relationship with God, our creator. In its music, âSonidos & Tiempoâ explores how christian values and teachings express in our daily lives.
About the words âSonidos & Tiempoâ
Spanish pastor and musician Hilarión Eslava (1807-1878) defined music as âthe art of good combining the sounds and the timeâ. A hundred years later Pope John Paul II said in his letter to artist (1999) how âthrough art⦠souls might be lifted up from the world of the senses to the eternal.â Music as art allow us to explore the ephemeral (our journey through this life) and eternity (God) in the same chord. These are the concepts that inspire âSonidos & Tiempoâ.

Hilarión Eslava (1807-1878), sacerdote y músico español, definió la música como âel arte de bien combinar los sonidos y el tiempoâ. Más de cien años después, el Papa Juan Pablo II nos dice en su Carta a los Artistas (1999) como âa través de las vías del arte los ánimos [son] llevados de lo sensible a lo eternoâ. La música como arte nos permite explorar lo efímero (nuestro paso por esta vida) y la eternidad (Dios) en un mismo acorde. Estos son los conceptos que inspiran la colección Sonidos y Tiempo.
