So youâve never heard of me and you stumbled upon my CD by accident you say? Iâm o.k. with that. Iâll take an accidental foot in the door over total obscurity any day. Foot number two would involve your spending the next 4 ½ minutes of your life listening to the track samples below (I hope).
The writing of these songs and the production of this CD became a project for me that fell somewhere between passion and obsession. The end result is a scrapbook of thoughts & impressions pasted together with melodies that I hope youâll find yourself humming when you least expect it.
For those of you still reading this...my last name is pronounced Shim-a-lew-ski. For those who I lost after the first sentence, they wouldnât have cared anyway.
I grew up listening to bands and musicians who didnât feel the need to define themselves either by way of specific style or genre. Sometimes you just write what you write and it is what it is. Joni Mitchell, Todd Rundgren, Traffic, The Band, Counting Crows. You know what Iâm talking about. Iâm not saying that Iâm blazing any new trails here but the music on this disc certainly is what it is. See how that all ties together?

Old Schoolâs Back From Underground is a self produced CD with eight of the nine songs performed, recorded, engineered and mixed in my home studio.

-I get to hoard all this fame for myself!

-it got lonely sometimes
-if someone doesnât like it, Iâve got no one else to pin the blame on
-working too close to the refrigerator
