ROCK: 80's Rock, ROCK: Classic Rock

Details:
After the success of the first 101 South CD in the year 2000, Producer ROGER SCOTT CRAIG and vocalist GREGORY LYNN HALL teamed up again in 2002 to record another classic album called ROLL OF THE DICE.

1. Mecca - Mecca
2. Soto, Jeff Scott - Prism
3. Harem Scarem - Weight Of The World
4. Hardline - II
5. Harlan Cage - Temple Of Tears
6. 101 South - Roll Of The Dice

Placed in the top ten by many rock journalist's 'album of the year' throughout Europe in 2002, this album has everything for those who love melodic rock. Compared to bands like Foreigner and Journey this CD flows with great melodies, guitar solos and exceptional vocals and production.

REVIEW
During 1999 Harlan Cage keyboard player ROGER SCOTT CRAIG assembled a new line-up of musicians under the banner of 101 South, a project that brought together many seasoned veterans of the L.A. session scene as well as well-traveled touring musicians. Joining Roger in the band were vocalist Gregory Lynn Hall, guitarist Mike Turner, bassist Chris Julian and drummer Hans Geiger. In 2000 MTM Music released their self-titled debut album, filled with 12 superior tracks. Press and fans liked what they heard and by the end of the year the album was voted by many as one of the best releases of the past year. Two years later and 101 South return with their sophomore release "Roll Of The Dice". Signed up by Sweden's Atenzia Records (founded by Magnus Söderkvist, ex-MTM Music) the band has delivered an album that's at least as good as the debut album. When we compare 101 South to Harlan Cage, of course there are many similarities, but one thing stands out: the vocal prowess of Gregory Lynn Hall! Count to that the excellent quality of the songs plus the trademark keyboard work of Roger Scott Craig and the excellent guitars of Billy Liesegang, Mike Turner and newcomer David Pasillas and you have an album full of songs that mix melodic power with delicate ballads. I know it's still early to say so, but I'm sure "Roll Of The Dice" will be a serious contender for 'album of the year 2002'.

COMMENTS FROM FANS:

This is a very good AOR CD, together with Harlan Cage, one of the highlights of 2002 !! Brilliant and utterly ESSENTIAL for every melodic rock fan !! BUY !!!!!

Roll OF The Dice is even better than their debut album!!! Just listen to great songs like 'Borderline', 'Don't You Stop Believing ' & 'Dark Cloud on the Horizon'!!! A MASTERPIECE!!! Check out more on the Metal Abyss webzine (URL: metal-abyss.tripod.com)!!!!!

One of the best releases of '02 without a doubt .This is even better than the debut (and that was a fantastic disc). If you liked the debut then you'll like this as well, as it treads in a very similar path. Most excellent.

Another pomp-AOR classic from the hands of Roger Scott Craig. As good or better than the debut 101 South and also better than the very good new Harlan Cage album. Pure and simple - an essential purchase for lovers of pomp and grandiose keyboard laden AOR.

Roger Scott Craig is a genius ! What this man has done with Harlan Cage, Fortune (that ALL TIME CLASSIC on MCA ) and now 101 South is fantastic. This is one of the very best new AOR acts ! SO GOOD !!!! BRILLIANT ! Buy this !!!!!

I would consider this one a benchmark for melodic AOR releases. If classic rock radio would have played this,I think alot of people would have taken notice. It's amazing how much great music the general public is missing out on.

Excellent follow up to superb debut

Second Masterpiece! What a Hell of an album ! Pure AOR with tons of great melodies ! 9,510 Buy it !

Wow, how can Roger keep this fantastic body of work the last 20 years and no one seems to know??? How this music gets by without knowing is a question to be answered. Great second cd, I love the first but this one does it for me in all ways, man what a voice Gregory has. This one is a classic

Wow, what can I say, does not get much better than this, oh my. what an album!!! Must be in the top ten of the decade!!!! Great pomp/aor/melodic rock and how about the vocals from Gregory Hall, what a singer, hails back to the Lou Gramm, Paul Rodgers type of vocalist but stronger in my mind!!! wowowow!
