Panamanian born Pepe Calavera brings together a culture of Latin-Carribean inspired rhythms with an array of sonic overtones, carried by an engine of acoustic force. Using a foundation of traditional latin guitar fair, and building layers of electronic sampling and beats, the music fluctuates from stripped down acoustic to upbeat dance styles. Every song is drenched in a lyrical clash of confessional, political, and social expression. Calavera fuses the traditional with the contemporary in a unique independent style bringing to mind a "Manu Chao" or "Beck".
