Don Childs is a native of Bryan, Texas, and finished High School there. I later went to North Texas State University in Denton, Texas where I studied music for three years. I Left Denton and got married and went to Los Angeles and San Diego for two years. I then came back to Bryan and played around with the local groups in the area before getting devorced. I remarried in 1967 before moving to Waco, Texas. I moved to Waco and joined the house band at the world famous "Nite Life Club" under the band leadership of Classie Ballou. I played tenor sax in the band before starting my own group known as "The Brothers Of Revolution". We played throughout the Waco area. Playing with and opening for such groups as The Impressions, Bobby Bland, Shirley Brown, Johnnie Tayoir, David Ruffin and Tyrone Davis. In 1997 I joined a group called "The Full House Blues Band" unded the leadership or John Wick. We played around the Bryan College Station and Houston areas for fifteen years. I now live and work in Marlin, Texas where I Did keyboard, saxophone, and vocals with the "Sonny Mac Blues Band". I have now formed my own band (The Mix). We play R&B, Blues, and Pop and ready to rock your world. So come and join us when we are in your area. Don Childs
