Love was a guitar but playing drums came natural at 16. My 1st gigs were in 1972, in San Jose, Ca. playing 50,s, 60,s rock and roll with friends and learning the blues at bar dives and county fairs at 17. Took class and read books on percussion. Helped form a small group in 1974. Mixture of Rock and Soul. 6 months of practice produced a few gigs and one "House Band" gig at a bowling alley nite-club. Dangerous and electrifying! The group ended in despair. 1975 did studio work that produced several original rock and roll tunes written by band lead guitarist. 1976/77 was a learning year. Recorded some more songs, traveled east and âsat-in a lotâ. 1977-1979 played with disco group consisting of 7 members playing some seedy gigs, trendy nite-clubs, high school gigs, county fair concerts and âBattle of the Bandsâ type gigs. Band was featured as an âopenerâ for soul artists âMary Wellsâ and âJames Brownâ (JB is back 1978). Joined the Nav in 1979 and âsat-inâ when I could in San Diego, CA.. 1980 - 1983 was spent mostly at sea. 1982 did âsit-insâ with local funk&Jazz musicians then got involved playing Country Western standards in 1983. Continued drumming locally when not out to sea, and began writing songs in 2000 as a member with âMidnight Fireâ and after retiring from the Navy. In 2005 the band recorded 13 cover songs and three original songs written by Glen. In 2006 moved to "Helotes", TX. (just outside San Antonio). In November 06, 11 songs were recorded with âMidnight Fireâ @ "Black Box" Studios Golden Hills, San Diego, Ca. These days still picking and planning more recordings in the near future.
