These three timed meditation sessions are especially designed for walking, sitting, and meditation preparation. This album features the chanting of the Buddhist Ti-sarana mantra of taking refuge in the triple gem of the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha, along with soothing music of harmonium and Tibetan singing bowls.

The mantra for taking refuge in the triple gem, Ti-sarana, is chanted in Pali by Buddhist yogi and healing music artist Shantha Sri.

The text of the chant is as follows:
Buddham saranam gacchami
Dhammam saranam gacchami
Sangham saranam gacchami

This is the Pali for the phrase for taking refuge "I take refuge in the Buddha, I take refuge in the Dharma, I take refuge in the Sangha."

The mantra is initially chanted by one voice and then is joined by the many voices of the Sangha, giving a feeling of refuge and security to the listener. The listener may chant along with the Sangha if they choose, or simply meditate quietly as they are enveloped by the reassuring voices.

The soothing vibrations created by the Tibetan singing bowls help to purify negative influences, increase positive energy and restore harmony and balance. The pure sound resonating from the singing bowls is very powerful in centering the mind and body.

Samma Vayama is ideal as a meditation timer â each track contains a Sati (mindfulness) bell at the beginning and the end. Especially designed for deep devotional immersion meditation (walking as well as sitting practice) and meditation preparation, it is also useful for yoga and tai chi practices or as a calming background soundscape. This track is designed in three version-lengths for individual meditation requirements â 10, 20, and 30 minutes.
