From the streets of the southeast side of the Motor City emerges an insightful Writer and compelling Spoken Word Performance Artist. The Musical Spoken Word Art featured on her latest album, "Get Me Out of This Asylum" fuses brass spoken word, melodic vocals, and engaging music. Lyrics are philosophical and power-packed. The music ranges from funky jazz to contemporary hip-hop, tailored to the spoken word theme.

As a bonus, this 14-track production contains 4 songs without spoken word, either inspirational jazz, funk or pop/soft rock. At times, you'll want to jump up & dance; other times, you'll just relax and listen, and on some tracks, you'll want to sing along with the infectious groove. Veronica's lyrical prowess is hauntingly evident from track to track as her diverse writing styles are showcased. Featured on The Asylum Project are seasoned, dynamic musicians (no sampling allowed) and harmonizing vocalists, including versatile lead vocalist, Jeanetta Carr.

This Detroit native began receiving honors for her writing skills in grade school and later developed her vocal skills at Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts in Southfield, Michigan. Veronica has been honored with several distinctive awards recognizing her talent for video production, including a Communicator Award of Distinction and a Telly Award for her Spoken Word Video, "I Can't Shut Up!," the title track from her debut album. This track marries candid social commentary addressing the declining morals of America to a soothing jazz groove. The 12-piece compilation also offers a diverse mix of musical genres.

Following the release of her debut album, Veronica was honored with a Testimonial Resolution presented by the Detroit City Council saluting her lifelong commitment to excellence in the fine arts. Veronica has been a featured guest on local and national radio talk shows, including The Tom Pope Show, where her music has been featured. She has also performed in a myriad of venues including the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit, Michigan.
