Details:
"Lorenzo Bertocchini is like a son to me: so attentive and so rebellious".
(Elliott Murphy)

Lorenzo Bertocchini is a unique songsmith that hails from Varese (northern Italy) where he fronts a folk-rock band called The Apple Pirates.
With them, or solo, he has performed in Europe and in the USA, providing the audiences with moving songs full of strong melodies, biting irony and deeply personal lyrics.

With a lot of hard work and true devotion to his roots-rock roots, Lorenzo has built himself the solid reputation that he enjoys in the Italian music scene today.
His fan base in Europe has propelled him to the top of the Americana list overseas.

Over the years, Lorenzo has toured with Dan Bern, Elliott Murphy, Erin Sax Seymour and Ruth Gerson, shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen, Pete Yorn, Jesse Malin and Rosie Flores, and shared bills with Ramblinâ Jack Elliott, Eric Andersen and Bob Neuwirth.
He has performed on Italian and French National TV; and he can also be seen on two films: he made special appearances in Renzo Martinelliâs âLa bambina dalle mani sporcheâ (with Ornella Muti, Remo Girone, Philippe Leroy and Sebastiano Somma) and in Marco Bellocchioâs forthcoming âSorelle 2â.

Lorenzoâs discography started in 1998, when him and The Apple Pirates released their debut CD, âGreatest Hitsâ, featuring 13 originals and two covers: Elliott Murphyâs âTime To Love Againâ (previously unreleased) and Bruce Springsteenâs âTwo For The Roadâ.

In 2002, four unreleased Lorenzo Bertocchini songs came out on the compilation âMusica Vaâ (2 were performed by Lorenzoâs band, 2 others were covered by Italian pop singers).
That same year, Lorenzoâs version of âSomething Like Steve McQueenâ appeared on âLookinâ For A Heroâ, an Elliott Murphy tribute-CD.

In 2004, he released his first solo CD titled âWhatever Happens Nextâ, featuring 26 original tunes showing off his wide musical range encompassing soulful ballads to straightforward rockânâroll, as well as some spicy country-folk, and your basic down and dirty blues.
The CD includes all the variety of textures, speeds, and styles that can coexist on an americana CD. The booklet contains a unique portrait by his multi-talented artist and friend Dan Bern, in addition to liner notes by old pal Elliott Murphy.

In 2007, Lorenzo released âLive At The Sidewalk Caféâ: 13 songs, 48 minutes of music and fun, the CD was recorded on December 6, 2006 in the heart of New York Cityâs East Village. It features Lorenzo âsolo and acousticâ and captures the incredible energy in the room the night of this performance.
The flow of these songs takes you on a tuneful journey full of strong melodies along with biting irony.
At the beginning of the show, when Lorenzo asked if anybody had been to his hometown, a resounding âYes!â was shouted out by someone in the audience.
He thought this was a joke, but in fact it was Muzz Skillings, bass player for Living Color.
It wasnât until after the show that the two had a laugh and, over drinks, discussed Muzzâs visit to Lorenzoâs part of the world.

In 2009, Lorenzo and his band, The Apple Pirates, released âUncertain, Texasâ, a new album packed with 15 truthful, strikingly original, new songs wrapped in irony or just plain naked.
A lot of characters meet in this album: Elvis, Doctor House, Valentino Rossi, Jesus, Amy Winehouse, Robert De Niro, Gennaro Gattuso, Tom Waits, Unlce Fester, the Dalai Lama, Spike Lee, Bob Dylan and Barrack Obama, only to name a few.
This CD is also available here. Get it, and play it loud: you wonât regret it!

With The Apple Pirates or solo, Lorenzo Bertocchini is constantly on tour, including benefit concerts for the Emergency bringing medical help to civil victims in war torn areas around the world.
