Spiral Up Kids is the exciting musical project of Georgia Weinmann, Darren Cohen and Tim Whalen, three old friends who set out to craft groovy uplifting, heart felt songs that convey a positive message filled with laughter, magic, and imagination. The common ground they stand on is not only the rich soil of the Hudson Valley of NY, where the three raise their families, but also the playful pleasures of parenting and making music together.

Our debut CD contains a dozen fresh, funky, fantastically fun original children's songs the whole family can groove to. Spiral Up Kids features some of the Hudson Valleyâs finest players; Tim Whalen on drums and lead vocals, Ross Rice on keyboards, Larry Packer on fiddle and mandolin, Jason Sarubbi on bass, Robin Baker on vocals, and Darren Cohen on guitar.

The songs on Spiral Up Kids are the soundtrack to the lives of little Ruthie and Jonah, two jamming and singing Barefoot Boogie Babies who have grown into a pair of Busy Toddlers ready to tackle all of lifeâs electrifying activities. These two remind us that there is truly nothing more important in this world than family and the thrill of enjoying your Friends.

Our tale begins one day during Ruthieâs naptime, when Georgia began writing poems and lyrics inspired by her life with her daughter. She handed these over to Darren and Tim who awakened her colorful words and stories with their infectious grooves and catchy melodies. Who else could bring to life a story involving some Ducks sharing, but a couple of Super Dads, who also help save the day in Boo Boo Blues? Alphabet tells you all about Ruthie and Jonah's favorites from A to Z, while Rainy Day Play takes you on an outlandish trip full of fun and imagination without ever having to leave your living room. Sugar will have you singing along for those sweet treats and you'll definitely want to strap on your boots when the stereo kicks into Stomp. Kitty and Me will have you swaying with your family and best friends, even, those with fur.

Little Kids Everywhere, is a thought provoking ballad which illustrates the importance of everyone young and old doing their share to take care of our Earth. In the Fiddle is a Song is a favorite childrenâs book of ours written and illustrated by our good friend Durga Bernhard. We loved its powerful message of tapping into oneâs potential so much that we had to add it to our collection of original childrenâs songs.

A portion of all sales will be donated to Arts in Education Programs in the Hudson Valley of New York State.
