âGroove Ganeshâ is an irresistible combination of four versatile performers across several genres. Skilfully blending eastern and western sounds and rhythms, they combine the rich textures of Sitar, Indian violin and vocals with dub bass and psychedelic guitar.
âGroove Ganeshâ also use dance beats and samples of ethnic percussion instruments. This creates a trance feel while Sean Brady (kit-drums) adds life with some laid back grooves or dance rhythms.
âWe love to mix and match sounds and stylesâ, admits Astra. 'If you turn out a musician, everything you ever heard will eventually come through.' âWe all bring our own language to the projectâ, add Nicolas and Damien. âWhile weaving our ideas in with the others we get inspired by what comes back.â
All recordings are realized and recorded on the spot with a bit of tidying up after. âYep, we had to cut out quite a bit of laughingâ, explains Astra. âItâs been a lot of fun!â
