Details:
Itâs impossible to pigeonhole the musical style of Steve Brennan. Sometimes, heâs a folksinger, sometimes it could best be described as country. Then again, his back porch country blues version of Carol Kingâs âIâm into Something Goodâ, will certainly send Hermanâs Hermits fans away shaking their heads. Thereâs a brushy, Jazz Trio approach to Bill Morriseyâs âKing Jellyâs Good Morning Irene songâ. And then. the James Tayloresque conversation with a friend named Vinnie. Along the way, tribute is paid to Elvis , Jim Reeves, and Johnny Cash. The album opens with an original entitled, âI Know this Roadâ, considered by most to be Steveâs best song. Itâs the story of a truckerâs life as told to a passenger in the cab of a big rig headed north. There are other bright spots, but one thing is for sure, there is zero filler. He can sing, and he can play. Eleven songs, eleven keepers. That is as it should be. Enjoy.
